Energizing juice! With all the lovely greens

About this dish
Oh this green juice.
It gives us much energy.
We realized just how energizing this was, one evening when we had a glass before bed... couldn't sleep... and stayed up telling stories into the early morning.
This juice is my go-to when I want a little pick me up, refresh & cleanse.

Servings: 1 gallon
Ingredients
original
about 325g herbs - I use a mix of Parsley & Cilantro (2 bunches parsley, 1 bunch cilantro)
6 large cucumbers
6 large green apples, quartered and seeds + core removed
4 celery stalks, broken up into individual ribs
5 rainbow chard leaves
5 collard green leaves
lighter/sweeter
about 200g herbs - I use a mix of Parsley & Cilantro (1 bunch parsley, 1 bunch cilantro)
6 large cucumbers
6 large green apples, quartered and seeds + core removed
4 celery stalks, broken up into individual ribs
4 rainbow chard leaves
Recipe
Juicing can be a little messy (fun mess) - so I like to organize my station before getting started
I utilize a 1 gallon glass jar, 1 deep XL glass bowl, 1 fine mesh strainer and 1 funnel
Using a high-powered juicer or slow juicer - begin juicing your gorgeous green produce
I like to alternate water-rich produce, like celery and fibrous produce like herbs/leaves. This keeps the juicer from working overdrive and the mechanisms getting clogged up.
Each time the juicing catcher is full, I pour the juice through the fine mesh strainer into the deep glass bowl
Repeat until all produce is juiced and run through the fine mesh strainer
Then; I place the funnel on the 1 gallon glass jar - pouring the juice in
Sometimes there’s a tad more than 1 gallon of juice - so i pour myself a glass to celebrate the excess
Lid and place in the fridge to keep fresh!
NOTES
Depending on your taste - there are two options for this juice. Original & Lighter/Sweeter. Pick your preference!
I modify this juice recipe often. The elements and quantities that stay the same are the cucumbers, apples and celery. The herbs and dark leafy greens change depending on what i have on hand.
Keeps refrigerated in the fridge for 2 days
Can be frozen and saved for later - just make sure to use a freezer safe container and fill it no more than ¾ the way to allow for expansion in the freezer.
